Fort Berens Meritage 2022
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThere have been several people involved in the winemaking at Fort Berens, but it seems the winery has finally stabilised under the guidance of South African Ale Nel. The '22 vintage was widely praised at the Wine Align National Wine Awards for its rich, smooth textures and juicy red and black fruits. It's the extra layer of flavour that makes it distinctive. The blend consists of 69% merlot, 19% cabernet franc, and 11% cabernet sauvignon. Each grape variety is vinified and aged in French oak barrels for 15 months before blending.
