Fort Berens Meritage 2017

British Columbia, CanadaFrom sourced vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen, as well as from their Lillooet estate, this blends merlot (65) cabernet sauvignon (24), and cabernet franc (11)into a plump, plush, ripe red. After a stainless ferment, these spend near a year in French and American oak barrels, and then another year in bottle prior to release. Kudos to Fort Berens for the additional bottle ageing, helping this little Meritage be ready for popping and serving now (with steak). Roasted cassis, ripe cherry, grilled meats, smoky tobacco drive the medium frame to a brief finish.Tasted: 03 November 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
