Fort Berens Meritage 2018
British Columbia, CanadaA mix of fruit from the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, as well as the home Lillooet estate goes into this merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc blend. The textures are plump, and the fruit is ripe, reminiscent of black raspberry, but all with a bit of reduction throughout, so be sure to splash decant this wine after opening. You can drink this now with any rustic fall dish, from grilled pork to roasted chicken to mature cheeses. I like Treve’s idea of French onion soup as a match.Tasted: 17 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:BC | $27.99 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers, grocery |
