Burrowing Owl Meritage 2018
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Meritage blends 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, with each vinified separately for 15 months (70% French, 23% Hungarian, and 7% American with 85% new and 15% second fill oak) before the top barrels are singled out for the blend. Post-blend, they were barrelled for another 4 months prior to bottling. Deep and plush black fruit, floods the palate, woven with anise, toasted cedar, twine, and smoked stone.
