Burrowing Owl Meritage 2010
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTasted this last June at the WineAlign Nationals Wine Awards and it continues to evolve. The mix is 55/25/15/2/2/ of cabernet franc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot. Ripe, thanks to that low CS number, and invitingly aromatic it reminds us of the successful 2002 with its brooding spicy, tobacco, smoky black olive, black currant flavours. Much more Right Bank in style with that savoury BC undercurrent. Well done; needs another five years to fully integrate.Tasted: 25 January 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $45.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
