British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Meritage blends 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Cabernet Franc, each fermented and aged separately for 15 months in a mix of seasoned French and American oak barrels prior to the blend. Juicy black cherry, cassis, toasted coconut, tobacco, dark cocoa rule the firm palate, framed with rustic-hewn tannins through to the spiced finish.
