Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2016

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyAltesino, first produced in 1972, spends a minimum of two years in oak and four months in bottle before release. It is a proven ager that can easily go 20 years most vintages. The colour is never dark. In 2016 it is ruby red at most, with a touch of Bordeaux brick at the edge. The nose is explosive with intense, complex scents of violets and balsamic with trampled forest underbrush and spicy cranberry and cassis. It’s regal Brunello rich with silky tannins and a sense of balance that suggests it will live for decades.Tasted: 19 October 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
