Fattoria San Lorenzo Rosso Piceno di Gino 2018

Marche, ItalyMarche's Rosso Piceno DOC was established in 1968, making it one of the oldest DOCs in Italy. From 15-20 year old certified organic, biodynamically farmed vines in the sandy soiled Barcaione vineyard, in Corinaldo, this is a 60/40 blend of montepulciano and sangiovese, native fermented over 2 weeks before one years' rest in concrete. This is an earthy, rustic red, laced with VA, lending a tartness to the dusty cherry, raspberry, red currant on the palate. Tannins are sticky to the short, tart cranberry finish. TCA evident as well. Not the cleanest example.Tasted: 08 November 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
