Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2009

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyIt’s hard to believe the 2010 Altesino could be better than this delicious 2009. So floral and bright with beautiful red fruit aromas and spice this is a dream on the nose. It’s even harder to believe that it spends 30 months in large oak casks, but it the wood is barely noticeable. The attack is rich but with perfect texture and balance, dried cherries, leather, orange rind and salt are all in the mix before it ends in a floral perfume. Slow braised beef and vegetables would be a perfect match. Wait for this to develop through 2020 and then drink forever.Tasted: 06 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
