Meyer Family Vineyards Pinot Noir McLean Creek Road Vineyard 2020

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of Canada's pinot noir and chardonnay specialists, this is from Meyer's home estate McLaren Creek Road Vineyard, and its steep gravelly / sandy loams. Pommard (91) and Dijon (114, 115, 667, 777) clones from 3 blocks go into this wine, meant to capture the organically farmed home estate. This was destemmed, cold soaked, and native fermented before aging 11 months in French oak (25% new). The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Sultry and mouth filling, with perfumed plum, wild blackberry, thorns on a textural, expansive palate. The soft tannins shape this through a gentle floral finish. Easy and welcoming, this smart pinot can be an easy go-to throughout fall / winter (think salmon / wild mushrooms) or over the short term in your cellar.Tasted: 05 September 2022Tasted by: Prices:
