Burrowing Owl Merlot 2017

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom estate vineyards in Oliver and Osoyoos, this merlot was destemmed, cold soaked, and fermented in stainless, and then moved into barrels (mix of French, American, Hungarian, and Russian) for 14 months. True to house style, this is a big, forward, spiced red, now worn into itself with time. A leathery base beds cedar-lined cassis, black cherry, and baking spices, with tannins fairly well-integrated, though still wood-shorn. A great example of southern Okanagan, desert-imbued merlot.Tasted: 15 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:
