Burrowing Owl Merlot 2002

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaGood dark cherry colour. Still a baby the '02 merlot shows fine promise from its peppery, spicy, Christmas pudding and plum/iodine nose with black raspberry, earthy, tobacco leaf undercurrent to its ripe plum jam, cherry, chocolate, vanilla, peppery orange rind flavours. Rich round and quite concentrated with ripe, supple tannins. A bit fat and alcoholic for B.C. but it will have wide appeal. Should improve over the next two to four years. Dare we say St. Emilion...Tasted: 02 June 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
