Burrowing Owl Merlot 2012

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDeep black plum, baking spices and dusky blackberry fill this southern Okanagan merlot, one that works hard to keep some minty, herbal freshness. Baked cherry pie, saddle, anise and balsamic factors in on the full bodied palate, one roughed up with savoury cedar sawn tannins and finishing with a swig of vanilla and a good deal of heat (feels like more than the 14.5 percent label). Best absorbed alongside rich braised lamb or beef.Tasted: 25 February 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
