Fort Berens Chardonnay 2018

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaFrom primarily estate grapes with nearly 1/5 coming from the Similkameen, this year's chardonnay is ripe and blousy with yellow apples, applesauce, pineapple, and spiced lemon curd. There's a sharp granny smith acidity that slices through the fat, leaving the whole a bit disjointed in youth, and warm on the finish. After whole cluster pressing and partial native ferment, this was primarily fermented and aged for five months in stainless, with a small amount seeing time in new and used French oak.Tasted: 31 October 2019Tasted by: Prices: BC 19.99 winery direct, private wine shops, Save-onFoods Producer: Fort Berens Estate WineryDistributors: The Drinks List
