Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAt BOV, the chardonnay is more classic than groundbreaking, relying on ripe, soft, round buttery fruit. In 2020 there is plenty of both, thanks to a warm year and 75% barrel fermentation. Almost 90% was further barrel aged for nine months. The palate is a mix of candied lemons, ripe melon, hazelnuts, and citrus. More California than Burgundy, but all in all, well made and ready to drink. Try this with buttered clams or halibut in brown butter sauce.Tasted: 17 August 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's chardonnay is classic BOV: rich, ripe, luxuriant. Whole cluster estate fruit was 75% fermented in oak barrels with the remainder in stainless, with partial MLF, and 89% of the lot remaining in oak for 9 months prior to the final blend. Sweet cream, lemon curd, ripe melon, toasted buttered brioche, hazelnut fill the generous palate, with a lemon peel acidity to cut through the heft, taking this to a bitter citrus finish. If you like your chardy Cali styled, but want to #supportlocal, here you go.Tasted: 07 September 2022Tasted by: Prices:
