Antinori Tignanello 2010
Tuscany, ItalyThe folks at Antinori think this is the greatest Tignanello ever and on cool rainy evening in Vancouver beside Alberta beef it may well be. It's clearly the most elegant Tignanello we have encountered at this stage in the bottle mixing elegance and power. At 80 percent the sangiovese continues to shape the structure with its floral red fruit and liquorice with 15 percent cabernet sauvignon and 5 per cent cabernet franc. Long and seamless it has the balance that would suggest it will age effortlessly for a decade or two and it continues to become more linear and persistent in the mouth. Tignanello is produced exclusively from a 57 hectare site about 375 metres above sea level in the heart of Chianti Classico. The wine has been produced continuously since 1970 with the exception of the 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1984, 1992, and 2002 labelsTasted: 11 March 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $100.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
