Antinori Tignanello 2001

Tuscany, ItalySaddle leather, tobacco, black olive, coriander, meaty, black cherry, mocha nose with some licorice and smoke. Rich, round, ripe palate with grainy, slightly tight tannins. Intense tobacco, black cherry jam, resiny, smoky, olive, chocolate, vanilla flavours with a gamey, roast meat finish. Needs 2-5 years to smooth out.Tignanello is the original Super Tuscan. The 47 hectare vineyard at Antinori's Santa Cristina Estate uses 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc to make this wine.Tasted: 04 February 2006Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
