Antinori Tignanello 2015
Tuscany, ItalyThis is a great Tignanello and definitely one to lay away if you are a collector. As chief winemaker Renzo Cotarella so aptly says, the place penetrates the wine. In 2015, warm days and cool nights were a steady pattern during the growing season, leading to fully ripe, dense, almost sweet black fruit with fine acidity. It delivers the vibrancy and verticality you expect from Tignanello (and sangiovese) with licorice and minerality. The tannins are highly polished and would suggest you could drink this now, but I say wait a few years to give this wine a chance to really show off. Undervalued, to say the least.Tasted: 18 October 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $125.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
