Antinori Solaia 2009
Tuscany, ItalyIn 2009 Solaia finally got its own cellar and the results are encouraging. The mix is 7520/5 cabernet sauvignon, sangiovese and cabernet franc. The nose is cool and fresh with red fruit and minerality spilling from the glass. The Solaia vineyard or the "sunny one," is divided into several blocks which are now all vinified separately. The textures are smooth, the fruit dense and tannins long soft and fine grained. Love the floral, black and red fruit dried herbs and exotic spice. Still youthful this will easily age another 20 years and beyond.
