Antinori Solaia 2010
Tuscany, ItalyPerhaps an awkward moment for this iconic Tuscan red. The nose is pretty if a touch lifted with bright red fruits dominated with bits of olive, dried herbs and earth. The attack is elegant and well balanced with slightly darker fruits, resin, graphite and savoury notes supporting. Just a baby but will need time to mature. It is not the same size as most of the wine in this tasting and for that we can be thankful. Cellar through 2020 then try with a steak, prepared Florentine style. The blend is 75/20/5 cabernet sauvignon, sangiovese, cabernet franc.
