Château d'Yquem 1947
Sauternes, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceAmazing climate: one of the hottest summers recorded in history in Bordeaux. Some 20 to 30 days above 40C during the summer. The heat continued into autumn to create a perfect year for red and white wine. It's crammed full of sweet fat fruit. Fabulous notes of honey and candied pineapple and tarte tatin. In many ways Lurton says it's similar to the 1927 and 1929. Bottled with 145 g/l of sugar with an acidity of 4.5 grams per litre and 14.2 degrees alcohol. Picking began in 13 September finished 13 October.Tasted: 15 May 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $4165.00 | 750ml | consignment - Dream Wines |
