Penfolds Grange Hermitage Bin 95 Shiraz 1975

South Australia, AustraliaSlightly volatile the oldest Grange in the vertical has a sweaty saddle leather nose and a soft sweet entry. The mid-palate is firm and peppery with plenty of dry tannins still hanging out in the finish. There are some chocolate and mellow notes that grab your interest in this 90 per cent shiraz Grange that blends fruit from Kalimna, Barossa Valley and Coonawarra. The alcohol is a very reasonable 13.4 per cent.Tasted: 16 February 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
