Penfolds Grange Hermitage Bin 95 Shiraz 1992

South Australia, AustraliaExcellent ruby cherry colour. Ripe fruit aromas of plum, blackberry, vanilla, pencil lead and pepper. The style is rich, if not slightly overblown. The fruit is good and there is no shortage of ripe blackberry, plum flavours, and that sheen of vanilla in the finish, but this is not an exceptional Grange. For a wine that has jumped from $60 to $180 in a few short vintages you should expect more finesse.Tasted: 01 March 1995Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
