Ruffino Modus 2020
Tuscany, ItalyModus is a Super Tuscan blend first launched in 1997. The 2020 is a 46/31/23 blend of merlot, sangiovese, and cabernet sauvignon. It is suitably intense, with black and red fruit, a touch of florals and exotic spice. At 14.5% it is full-bodied but comes with polish and a surprisingly silky texture. The flavour profile blends black fruit and cocoa with that familiar modern Super Tuscan style, where sangiovese tends to temper merlot's largesse, and cabernet provides structure.
