Tuscany, ItalyA cool, wet, late, vintage by modern global warming standards, 2013 was saved by fine weather in the end. Modus is a modern Super Tuscan affair mixing 34/33/33 sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon, merlot. The attack is weighty, showing the cabernet and merlot and a smoky, savoury, dark fruit and tapenade character. A richer, fatter version of Chianti Classico, but it is an IGT Toscana.
