Tuscany, ItalyModus is a modern styled blend of 50/25/25 sangiovese/cabernet sauvignon/merlot sourced predominantly from Ruffino's Poggie Casino and Santedame Estates, 300-350m altitude. Full and potent with bitter black cherry, tobacco, olive, balsamic, tomato paste and herbal blackcurrant, the wine spent more than three weeks on the skins before twelve months in old and new American and French oak casks. Tannins are ripe and sinewy, and the finish carries some heat.
