Ruffino Modus 1999
Tuscany, ItalyModus is Ruffino's super-Tuscan blend of 50/25/25/ sangiovese/merlot/cabernet sauvignon from the Montemasso, Poggio Casciano and Santedame estates. Look of for a big spicy, pencil lead nose with green bean, olive and peppery vanilla notes combined with saddle leather, game, chocolate, coffee and black cherry highlights. It's moderately rich and slightly tight with noticeable but ripe tannins. Intense coffee, cassis, liquorice, peppery, vanilla flavours with a gamey, olive, plum finish.
