Santa Lucia, Pisa, Tuscany, ItalyIn the glass, grapey, savoury cherry, simple wood, cloves and a touch of florals greet. Technically a Super Tuscan with the addition of only 5% merlot and 10% cabernet sauvignon, yet these small amounts do shift the shape of the sangiovese remainder. The fruit is a little more rounded, easier, and fresher than straight sangiovese. It shows baked cherry, tart plum, and strawberry with eased tannins and chummy barrel notes before finishing with a more earthy sangiovese undertow of savoury plum and almond skin.
