Santa Lucia, Pisa, Tuscany, ItalyMonte Antico is a mini super Tuscan mixing 85/10/5 sangiovese/cabernet sauvignon/ merlot as crafted by winemaker Franco Bernabei and importer Neil Empson. This is one of the best we have tasted packed full of juicy, plummy fruit spiked with dried herbs and soft textures. It is fully ready to drink and we enjoyed with grilled chicken. The wine is aged for one year in 80 percent Slavonian oak with 20 percent French before spending 6 months in the bottle prior to release.
