Santa Lucia, Pisa, Tuscany, ItalyMonte Antico is classic meets new wave. The mini super Tuscan mixes 85/10/5 sangiovese/cabernet sauvignon/ merlot made by winemaker Franco Bernabei. The wine is aged for one year in 80 percent Slavonian oak with 20 percent French before spending 6 months in the bottle prior to release. Look for a medium rich, fragrant red with plenty of berry fruit, leather, dried herbs and fine acidity underneath. The style is soft and forward and clearly ready to drink.
