Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay 2023

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe oldest vines at Quails' Gate are a key part of the Stewart Family Reserve program. The first vines were planted in 1961, but the family's roots in the Okanagan go back to 1908, when they established a tree nursery in Kelowna. The 2023 vintage was shaped by an unusually cold winter followed by a very warm growing season, which limited yields and resulted in a small yet high quality harvest. It was the earliest hand harvested fruit ever on the property, was whole cluster pressed, then aged nine months in French oak (25% new). The '23 is a ful -bodied wine with a creamy texture and bright, ripe apple and pear, complemented by a subtle hint of reduction and toasted lees, adding an extra layer of complexity to the finish that endures throughout the wine.
