Quails' Gate Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay 2001

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLook for enticing, ripe, peach/honey aromas with vanilla peach melon edges. Winemaker Ashley Hooper has finally stripped back some of the oak which is a good thing although there's still a prominent buttery, toasted oak nose. It's nicely organized on the palate with good crispness and plenty of citrus, apple skin and peach flavours. Well made and a major jump up in style and class for the winery. Clearly the best chardonnay we've seen yet from Quails' Gate and move the winery into prime time B.C.Tasted: 08 June 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
