Fort Berens Cabernet Franc 2022

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaFort Berens is making a name for itself in Lillooet for its wines and the region, and this '22 is the latest example of the progress. The first estate cabernet franc opens with fragrant, savoury black fruit. The attack is round and rich but without any fatness or too much alcohol. Balance and length give it a delicious mid-palate and a juicy finish full of black and blue berries, dusted with dried herbs, with just the right touch of oak. The winery suggests serving it with pork or lamb, and I agree. The wine aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 10% new, 25% 2nd, and 25% 3rd fill, with the remainder in neutral oak.Tasted: 03 December 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
