Burrowing Owl Cabernet Franc 2022

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA modern look at a variety that pitches pure fruited black cherries, red plums, and red currants with floral undertones. The palate is fresh with bright, juicy black raspberry sprinkled with savoury desert scrub, roasted coffee, and five spice. The BOV Franc has a history of ageing well, but you can drink it now with roasted beef or venison dishes. The only thing missing is a bit of refinement. The 2022 fruit comes from estate vineyards Keller and Eva in Osoyoos, and their Burrowing Owl Vineyard. Post ferment and 30 days of maceration, the wine goes to barrel: 80.5% French, 11.5% Hungarian, and 8% American oak; with 26% new, 33% one and two year old, and 41% neutral barrels.Tasted: 08 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
