Burrowing Owl Cabernet Franc 2022

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2022 Cabernet Franc came from their estate vineyards in Oliver and Osoyoos. The destemmed fruit was fermented and aged over 18 months in a mix of 80% French, 11% Hungarian, and 8% American oak, with 26% new wood. Ripe and dense, with mouth-filling cassis, wild blackberry, and toasted cedar. Tannins are firm, gritty, and bitter espresso dusted, which lingers on the warming, bitter cocoa finish. Needs some time to resolve, or better yet, a hearty cut of beef.Tasted: 20 December 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
