Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBOV cabernet franc has a long history of being the sleeper release most years, especially in the days when cabernet franc was a leap for newbie wine drinkers. The style is full-bodied, the textures smooth but rich. On the palate, the flavours are a balanced mix of black and red fruit, the latter keeping the palate fresh through the finish. It's young and just beginning life, but it will be solid wine. Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2019 Cabernet Franc came from their Burrowing Owl Vineyard in Oliver, plus their Eva’s Vineyard in Osoyoos The destemmed fruit was fermented and aged over 15 months in a mix of 85% French, 13% Hungarian, and 2% American oak, with 28% new wood. Silky smooth, this full bodied wine caresses the palate with black cherry, cedar, black raspberry, cassis, spiced with an alluring smoked herbal note. Tannins are ample, but well-absorbed into the spiced fruit, housing this to a bitter black cherry finish. Quite well-knit at present, drinking smartly with roasted lamb or pork, but able to rest comfortably in your cellar over the next few years.Tasted: 12 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:
