Fort Berens Cabernet Franc 2016
British Columbia, CanadaThis Lillooet winery's white label cabernet franc (to differentiate from the grey label reserve series) is mostly estate, with 21 percent from the Similkameen. This blends clones 327 and 214, and spends time in French and American oak. Soft, dusky forest fruit, smoked cedar on a cushy, downy palate. Cracked pepper and nutmeg cloaks the vanilla finish. Easy and soft, lacking the acidity and verve and cut I'd hope for, but if you like your bigger reds soft, ripe and peppery, here you go.Tasted: 16 October 2018Tasted by: Prices:BC | $24.99 | 750ml | vqa, private wine stores, winery direct |
