Apalta Valley, Santa Cruz, Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileDense and full, with charred meats, charcoal and campfire leading this full-bodied dry-farmed cabernet from Colchagua. Potent black fruit, pipe tobacco and wood blanket the palate. Thick and camphor-heavy tannins add extra intensity to the potent fruit, before a powdery finish. The opposite of shy, even four years along, this would suit (needs) big grilled meats.Tasted: 22 March 2017Tasted by: Prices:
Apalta Valley, Santa Cruz, Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThey're getting cabernet riper (physiologically) these days in Chile and it looks good on them. Rich and weighty, the sweet cassis battles the savoury, boldo, bay leaf undertones with bits of mocha and spice. Still youthful and raw - grilled beef is the match for the moment.Tasted: 22 September 2016Tasted by: Prices:
