Quails' Gate Pinot Noir 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMost of the fruit in this pinot, now over 20 years old, is grown on the volcanic based, sloping soils of Stone Mountain Vineyard. One month on the skins followed by ten months in French oak barrels yields this gentle strawberry and sweetly ripe cherry pinot, fragrant and poised from first whiff to the finish. The palate is potent with the scented red fruits, along with earth, cinnamon spice, fine grained pepper, desert sage and rock rosemary. Gentle, with juicy intensity - a lovely balance struck - and a lovely pour for flavourful duck.Tasted: 14 April 2015Tasted by: Prices:
