Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2008

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyAltesino makes classic Brunello in the true sense of the word. The bouquets wafts out of the glass even now at young age. Fragrant, floral, with saddle leather, dried herbs, liquorice and orange peel without a trace of oak. The attack is fresh, supple and always elegant with enough power and fruit to carry on for decade in the bottle. Altesino spends a minimum four years at the winery ageing and at least two of those in oak and four months in bottle. It is 100 percent sangiovese grosso hand-harvested from the Altesino, Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Macina, and Pianezzine vineyards in the north part of Montalcino. Buy it and forget about for a decade you will glad you did. Try it with rich osso buco dishes, mushroom risotto or winter stews.Tasted: 18 October 2013Tasted by: Prices:
