Napa Valley, California, United StatesOpen spicy, peppery, chocolate, vanilla, prune, cassis jam nose flecked with blackberry jam, bay leaf, tapenade and roasted meat aromas. Big, rich, full, round, intense palate with chalky, youthful tannins. The fruit is rich with vanilla, blackberry kirsch, savoury, coffee, chocolate cedar, tobacco, tomato paste and olive flavours. Big concentration and intensity with some grainy tannin yet to disperse. Give it 2-4 years.
