Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz 2005

South Australia, AustraliaFloral, menthol, tobacco, resin, black cherry, peppery, earthy, leather and prune plum aromas. Ripe, round, supple, warm palate with fresh acidity but good balance. Spicy, black cherry, black berry, prune, coffee, floral, licorice, resin flavours. Very good fruit and concentration that finishes warm. Still a fine effort overall. St Henri is matured in old, 1460-litre vats that impart minimal, if any oak character. The 2005 contains 10 per cent cabernet sauvignon for structure.Tasted: 27 October 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
