Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz 1997

South Australia, AustraliaA historic Penfolds wine whose origins date back to the same period when Max Schubert was designing Grange. Large, 2000-litre vats prevent any new wood from invading St. Henri leaving the raspberry blueberry fruit to tell its story. The Penfolds descriptor of fruitcake is perfect and so is its supple mouth feel. Still young and under developed but excellent in every way. A sensational wine with a big future. One for the cellar.Tasted: 01 March 2000Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
