Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz 1998

South Australia, AustraliaSt. Henri is meant to be the antithesis of Grange. It's all about texture and ripe floral fruit unadorned with new oak. Look for spicy, blackberry jam, plum, and earth aromas mixed with licorice and leather in the background. Rich, round and velvety, it has a big chocolate, blackberry jam, licorice and spice flavours with those characteristic floral tones. Long plum jam, spicy blackberry finish that caresses the tongue with sweet, ripe fruit. An incredible drinking wine tailor-made for the restaurant crowd. Will improve in the bottle for many years but its gorgeous now. Tasted: 01 March 2001Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
