Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceA great effort in such a poor year. Very peppery, pruny, spicy, minty, caraway, black berry nose mixed with gamey sausage, tobacco leaf aromas and a touch of marmalade. Soft, round, supple palate with some light tannins. Peppery, menthol, tobacco, roasted pepper, pruny, smoky game flavours with a touch of truffle and coffee on the finish. Good length, balance and intensity.
