Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FrancePruny, soy, roasted pepper, barnyard nose with gamey, coffee, smoky bacon and leather notes mixed with streaks of spicy, floral and blackberry jam. Rich, round, dry and somewhat tannic at this point. Bay leaf, smoky, prune, tobacco, black berry, compost, menthol and coffee grind flavours. A bit tight and tannic on the finish with a touch of acidity but long. Starting to show mature La Chapelle characters but still needs 2-4 years to round out.
