Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle 1983
Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceA fine nose with intense spice, sweaty saddle, waxy, coffee, cigar, peppery, cardamom, rootsy, smoky aromas with a gamey, pruny, floral streak throughout. Dry, slightly tannic but elegant entry but full. Very peppery, smoky, prune, resiny, garrigue, tobacco, coffee and cardamom flavours. Still a bit tight on the finish, will improve through 2008. Full, elegant, slightly tight style. A close second to the fabulous 1978.Tasted: 26 April 2006Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:US | $80.00 | 750ml | retail / auction houses |
