Black Hills Alibi 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom heat domes to early frosts and killing freezing temperatures in December, the vines made it to 2022, where a late start and plenty of rain delayed the beginning of year 20 for Alibi. Fortunately, it was rescued by a late summer dry spell and warm temperatures. Winemaker Ross Wise has been tweaking the blend slowly, upping the sauvignon count over the sémillon, now a 94/6 split. It opens with delicate, intense aromatics, pitching classic sauvignon gooseberry with cut grass and beeswax from the sémillon. Overall, it is a refreshing style with good minerality that is very food-friendly. It is fermented in French oak puncheons and barriques with selected and wild yeasts and aged on its lees for six months.Tasted: 07 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
