Black Hills Alibi 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA decade on Alibi remains consistent and if anything is better as winemaker Graham Pierce slims down the fruit and alcohol and amps up the acidity. The 2014 is a 76/24 mix of sauvignon blanc/sémillon and we love that the alcohol is down to 12.7 percent. It really gives Alibi a fresher demeanour. The former sees no oak, the latter is barrel fermented in puncheons allowing the figs and tropical fruit to show through. Lastly the savoury finish with a touch of bitters takes it to a whole other realm of sophistication. Seafood please.Tasted: 14 September 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
