Fort Berens Pinot Noir 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI always like to return to the platinum National Wine Award wines to see how they are doing, and this pinot is just fine. From the Flaherty Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, it made its way to Lillooet and was fermented in stainless steel and then aged for ten months, in 25 percent new French oak combined with four and six year old French and American oak barrels. At only 12.5 percent alcohol, it presents with aromatic spice, red licorice, and turned earth, while on the palate, cherries and raspberries rule. Ripe, dense, sweet pinot that is charming in a New World way. Long since sold out.Tasted: 01 February 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
